DT Week continues! Today, Year 4 turned into little bakers!

In today’s D.T lesson, we had an exciting task: taste testing and reviewing a range of Bolognese sauces. A very important step in our cooking project!

DT Week: Investigating Water Resistance. We used pipettes and syringes to investigate which materials we are going to select for our shelters. Great scientific investigations and careful work year 6!

DT Week: Investigating Joins - In groups we have created different joins such as flanges, slots, braces and tabs to see which ones will work for our shelters. We loved this session.

DT Week: Investigating Strength - We worked out how to create the strongest structures and bridges. Lots of problem solving going on here!

Year 4 kicked off DT Week with a tasty biscuit investigation today. After sampling, they moved into a critical analysis, evaluating and describing the packaging, texture, and look of each biscuit, while also considering its target audience.

Throughout the week, we have continued exploring windmills and practised our skills. We have practised different cutting techniques in preparation of making our windmills however, we did the by creating an Autumn tree linking to our Science!

Our DT Week started today! We're making windmills! In teams we have investigated the three main jobs of a windmill, researching old, new, and even futuristic designs. We've also created our design criteria.

Seasonal Veg Tart Fun! The children got hands-on creating colourful seasonal vegetable tarts today! They showed great teamwork and learned about where food comes from and the benefits of seasonal eating. Fantastic cooking skills everyone!

It's DT week, and we're creating nursery rhyme pop-up cards! Our investigation began by exploring various pop-up books and nursery rhymes, and we even surveyed other classes for their preferences. Plus, we spotted a pop-up book in the 'Scrumptious' show!
