Year 2 Readers of the Week!

A wonderful afternoon spent enjoying hot chocolates topped with marshmallows, orange juice, sweeties and biscuits. Today we celebrated our VIPs showing our school values and showing their potential to grow with God.

Our digital leader training is well under way with Martyn from ClickView. We are reaching our potential as St Aidan's digital leaders. We can't wait to feed this back to classes.

What an incredible start to our KS1 multi-sports after-school club! Our first session was a huge success, with children having an absolute blast while developing their skills and teamwork.

In History this term we are learning about our local area - Mill Hill. This week we used a timeline to help our understanding of the past. The children thoroughly loved this activity. Did you know our school is 100 years old?

Jag Tag with Coach Jake. Today we learnt how to hold the ball correctly when throwing. The children then played games to throw the ball into the hoop and enjoyed scoring points for their team. Laiyla is EdStart’s of the week for super listening skills.

Our PSHE topic this term is 'Me and my Relationships' this week we have looked at different emotions and how people represent that feeling. We used role play to help our understanding. Year 2 you are great performers, well done!

A huge well done to our VIPs this week who have demonstrated our school values. A big well done to you all. I really enjoyed my hot chocolate and treats with you all & hearing about what you have been achieving all week.

This week we have been very lucky to have PE with Jake from EdStart. Jake will be delivering our PE sessions every Thursday. This term we are doing JagTag. We learnt how to hold the ball securely, how to run with the ball whilst changing direction.

Yesterday, Year 2 visited the church for the Global Week of Prayer. They enjoyed different stations focusing on themes like peace, community, and healing. A big thank you to Reverend Alice and the church for hosting a wonderful event.

What a wonderful first day back! It was lovely to see the children's happy faces as they settled back into the classroom routine. Thank you to all the families for a smooth start to the new term.
