Today, we revisited our Year 1 sticky knowledge on the continents and oceans, remembering the United Kingdom is part of Europe. We deepened our learning by locating Blackburn using maps and globes.

In Maths this morning we have been finding 10 more and 10 less. Children used their own preferred method to show their understanding - some used a pictorial method and others used concrete resources. We then concluded the lesson by using a written method.

Our Interfaith week in action! Yesterday we learnt about Buddhism. We created a safe, cosy space in our classroom and meditated. We then created lotus flowers as a sign of mindfulness and peace.

What an exciting day! Year 2 had a visit from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and learned how to Stop, Drop, and Roll!' We are officially fire safety experts! A huge thank you to the incredible Fire service for visiting us!

InterFaith Week highlight: We learned about Sikhism, focusing on helping and sharing. We heard the Guru Nanak story, coloured the Golden Temple, and made friendship bracelets. The children had so much fun!

Messy Church Club! Today we have enjoyed learning all about the feeding of the 5000! We shared one cookie between us all and realised it wasn't enough! We then looked inside the lunch bag and there was enough for everyone! It was a miracle.

Valuing Difference in PSHE This afternoon, we paired up to find out what makes us alike and what makes us different. Afterwards, we drew our self-portraits and had a discussion about why being unique is something to celebrate!

History Show It! We made posters this afternoon, sharing our knowledge of Mill Hill's history, including Cotton Mills and key figures. The children were great at comparing the school's past and present. Find out what your children's sticky knowledge is!
